Petition one.

UK renewable energy policy and associated planning policies should give far greater weight to principles of fairness and social justice.

We the undersigned recognise the UK’s legally binding commitment to tackle climate change and urge the UK Government to give far greater weight to the principles of fairness and social justice within renewable energy and planning policy in order to win public support. Specifically, we believe that: 1) Private interest groups should not profit disproportionately from sacrifices made to tackle climate change and economic benefits must be more fairly and transparently distributed. 2) The burden of achieving carbon emission reduction through new renewable energy developments should be shared out more equally across regions and districts. 3) Communities throughout the UK deserve fair treatment, with equally effective protection from new forms of negative impact arising from renewable energy technologies. 4) In the spirit of localism, communities should be empowered to determine the type and location of new renewable energy developments that are acceptable for their neighbourhood.

Petition two.

Inefficiency of On Shore Windfarms compared to other forms of Renewable Energy.

It is a proven fact that on shore Wind Farms are one of the most inefficient methods of generating renewable energy. The vast majority of on shore wind farms are situated in areas of beauty yet contribute little to the targets set by Government. They receive significant subsidies although their contribution is small I would ask the Government to 1.seek alternative methods of renewable enery such as off shore windfarms, tidal power, biomass which are proven to be far more efficient 2 Stop subsidies to on shore wind farms that are less than 30% effiecient and with the savings increase funding grants to house holders that wish to intall zero carbon systems 3 Allow Local Planning Authorities to determine applications for on shore wind farms on efficiency, noise and other factors that are detrimental to local residents.

Petition three.

We do not want any more onshore wind turbines/farms in Norfolk or elsewhere in the UK.

We appeal to our MPs to represent our views and to vehemently oppose these projects. These plants are an uneconomical and inefficient way to produce electricity and are only pursued by the Government to secure the "green" vote and to keep the EU happy. Locally, they industrialise the landscape, have detrimental health, financial and other effects on peoples lives, destroy wildlife and have a negative impact on tourism. The billions of pounds wasted on these projects should be used in other areas to improve the lot of the British people.
